Can anyone explain why I feel completely compelled to turn off the radio before I open my phone to read a text message? Even if I am a passenger? Even if I am parked in my driveway? Do I think my eyes won't work, if my ears are already engaged? Is this related to the pat your head/rub your stomach thing (which I have never had a problem with)?
That would be a thing that makes me go hmmm !!
ReplyDeleteWhen I am driving to a new location or looking for a parking spot I tunr off the radio AND lean forward in my seat as if that would somehow help. I don't know what it is but it is impossible to stop yourself from doing this as if it there is some biological imperative at work.
ReplyDeleteyeah, that's an interesting quirk. but of course, i've been reading while listening to music or tv since i can remember.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is a form of multitasking. I do the same thing and I do NOT mulitask well.
